Rosshall Academy photography student short listed for photography competition ‘Another Culture’.

Rosshall Academy photography student Kris Brown has been short listed for the GYSC/ Burrell collection photography competition. His work will be shown along side other young Glasgow photographers in the exhibition entitled ‘Another Culture’. The exhibition is showing at the Burrell collection cafe and it is on until June 12. The images coincide with the excellent ‘China through the lens of John Thompson, 1868-1872′ exhibition, so it is worthwhile going to view both exhibitions and also take some great shots of the beautiful surrounding Pollock park estate.

Higher Photography 2010-2011

Spring is in the air and time to get the cameras out to take some great shots! This years’ Higher Photography students are working on a variety of themes and here are just a few examples of their work.

Vikings in Largs

The incoming second year Television students organised themselves into four crews and headed to Largs to film the 2010 Viking festival. They survived the battle of Largs intact.

The School of Digital Media, End of Year Show

Some scenes from Cardonald College’s Digital Media Department’s End of Year Show, 8th June 2010. (Excuse the rough live Chromakey – mixer issues meant we had to run with an older model). Thanks to our sponsors, Cameron Presentations, MCL Glasgow, Hands on Production Services and QPrompt autocue services. Everyone had a great time.

Higher Photography Exhibition – Event Video

Produced by First Year HND TV Students, Sophie Morris, Ross Darroch and Stephen Barclay; this video was filmed at the 2010 Cardonald College Glasgow Higher Photography exhibition. The event was held at Scotland Street School Museum, on the 15th of May. Ron O’donnell was guest speaker and judge. Shanila Lodhi won first prize, but Ron said all the photographs were of a very high standard.
